Where is Ama Surf Camp located?
We’re based in Mirissa, Sri Lanka, a short walk from the beach — and just a quick tuk-tuk ride from Weligama if you want to catch some of its famous beginner waves too.
Do you teach all skill levels?
Yes. From your first pop-up to sharpening your turns, our coaching is small-group and personalised , with beginners and intermediate surfers taught in separate groups so the coaching actually fits where you’re at.
How long has Ama Surf Camp been running?
We started out in Weligama back in 2015 and have been coaching surfers ever since — over a decade of experience behind every lesson.
What are the rooms like?
We offer private rooms, shared rooms, and dorm rooms, so you can pick what suits your budget and travel style. Every room comes with comfortable beds and clean, well-kept facilities.
Do you offer yoga?
Yes—we offer one session a day, focused on flexibility, injury prevention, and recovery alongside your surf lessons.
Can I explore outside of surfing?
Definitely. We run guided trips to local highlights, or point you toward the area’s towns, food, and viewpoints if you’d rather explore on your own.
Is Ama Surf Camp right on the beach?
We’re a short walk from the beach rather than directly on it, giving you a bit more peace and quiet at the end of the day.
